WVEF Scholarship Update:
As all of us in our community, our state, our nation and around the world are navigating the changes thrust upon us due to the COVID-19 virus, the West Valley Education Foundation wants to provide an update regarding impacts to our planned scholarship application process and timing. First and foremost please rest assured that scholarship applications will be accepted and reviewed, and that awards will be offered to deserving applicants for the 2020 – 2021 academic year.
We have been in contact with our scholarship selection committee and while we do not have an updated schedule yet, we do know that the current due date for applications of March 31st will change in light of the WVSD closure effective from March 16th through at least April 24th.
Once the schedule for resuming school can be confirmed we expect to finalize a new application due date and will post the details to our website and share to our Facebook page. Applicants should expect the due date to be extended for some number of weeks after school resumes to provide students time to complete their application requirements. Additionally we may need to adjust the interview and selection process schedule.
In the meantime applications are available at http://westvalleyfoundation.org/ and we would encourage students to complete as much of the requirements as possible before school resumes to minimize the rush of activities for students, teachers and staff during what will be a very busy time period.
As we confirm our revised schedule and plans we will share those updates. Until then please feel free to reach out to us through our Facebook page, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our West Valley community is unbelievably strong and supportive and we are grateful for the tireless efforts by so many who are helping students and families adjust and cope with the uncertainty of the coming weeks.
